I heeded the call when one of our fearsome leaders sent out a call to find his lost pants. No one was interested until he accidentally mentioned that those very pants have an armor level of 675. Soon there were dozens of us gathering at Holthburg for the search.

We were given instructions and a some fancy advice for the journey ahead. We were told that the pants would probably be somewhere in the Dires, among the dunes and beasts that inhabit those areas.

As soon as the portal opened people started to rush in. The dangers seemed small when compared to the possible reward... Like Chimaera would ever again see his lost pants.

We didn't need to wander far when we were ambushed by an hideous monster - many fell under the great hammer. That was when we knew that we had been betrayed! There would be no pants - it was only a trick to lure us into the open! Those fast enough to run away did so and the weak were left behind.

--------------------

Although we ran as fast as we could we didn't have a change to survive. One by one we were whacked down and sent to the Life Stone.

-----------------------

At the Life Stone was a surprise waiting for us. Chimaera had spawned various generic-monsters-of-evil-nature and we had to fight them already weakened by our previous death.

---------------------

It became a fierce battle and losses were high on both sides. Reinforcements arrived all the time for the both sides so no remarkable breakthroughs were made. Eventually our ability to gain experience from slain monsters overcome the almost limitless numbers of the enemy.

As we were striking the final blow on the enemy leader, Chimaera, he cast a powerful transformation spell and slipped away in the form of a hideous ghost! It was sure that we would meet him again - and that time we wouldn't be so easily tricked by his promises of treasures. Oh right, there were plenty of corpses to loot so the trip was eventually worth it.
