Kallia had been quiet for most of the time, she had been trying to not get involved. But the argument between the two was beginning to get out of hand. Kallia spoke loudly, which was something she rarely did. "You two need to calm down. Fighting each other is something that children do. Nobody's blood is better or worse than the others. On the battlefield all blood looks and spills the same. Now please, put down your weapons." |
Heroic Champion of Legendary Destiny Posts: 12072 Joined: 16 Jan 2009 | Telemain looked at the dead Felines around them, a stunned look on his face. I nearly let them kill us all.... I was almost the cause of everyone's death here.... "......... I'm...... sorry....." |
Power Leveler Posts: 3216 Joined: 24 Jan 2009 | Magnus quite enjoyed battle, it gave him a place to show off his powers. He espescially enjoyed killing his enemies in fanciful and humorous manners. However, if it were to involve expediency, nothing killed more effectively than a giant spike coming out of the ground. When it came to creating weapons for himself, he enjoyed two types: a massive morning star that would crush any who were in its path; and a pair of Kadar, a type of sword wielded just above the knuckles. After the skirmish, he counted up his kill count as the others were talking. "Damn it. I only killed six of them... Oh well, I did manage to impale one on a spike of rock-candy..." He turned and saw Rebecca and Robin still jabbering on. "You're right Kallia, this is beginning to get annoying." Magnus spawned two ball-gags and held them up suggestively. "Want to shut them up?" |
Power Leveler Posts: 4896 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Robin spun his longsword in his hand. "I'll have you know that I'm royalty, Mangus", Robin laughed. It seemed both Rebecca and Robin had gotten carried away, and neither had bothered to count. "Anyone injured?" |
Server First Posts: 9096 Joined: 10 Mar 2009 | Kallia looked at herself, the most she had gotten were a few minor scrapes, but other than that she was unharmed. "No, I am fine." Kallia looked at the others. "Are you all ok or do you need some sort of medical attention?" |
Power Leveler Posts: 4760 Joined: 17 Mar 2009 | "Let's keep on moving, there must me more of them coming." said Temujin looking nervously around for any remaining enemies. |

Telemain and Magnus focused on marking their tracks with magical means while Samuel threw up barriers against attacks or scouts. They did not encounter any other human for days. After six days of travel, the path split. A sign pointed two ways. Rebecca told the group that Onesones estate was left, while the magicians told the group the Library was to the right. |

Robin turned to the group. "My 2nd in command position is still open. Just thought I'd let you know." After sheathing his sword, Robin made his way foward up the dusty track leading toward the Kingdom's 1st Unit barracks. |

She tried to speak respectfully to them, something that her father told her to always do, while also trying to bid farewell. "It has been an honor to be able to fight alongside all of you, even if most of you dislike me because I am half Feline. My attitude towards all of you will not change. You are are great warriors, and even greater people. I wish you well in all of your current and future ventures. I myself will travel with Samuel to the Arcane Library, perhaps the next time we meet I will be a powerful and great magician. Farewell." Kallia waited for Samuel to begin walking towards the Library. |
Heroic Champion of Legendary Destiny Posts: 12072 Joined: 16 Jan 2009 | "I also must bid my departure with Samuel. The Arcane Library will have much a young mage can learn, and I have no other direction than waiting for a job to come along. Goodbye, everyone." And maybe next time I won't nearly kill all of us. Telemain looked at Samuel, waiting for him to start the journey. |
Master Looter Posts: 2119 Joined: 14 Apr 2009 | Samuel shook Robin's hand and said farewell. They would see each other again, but for now they would depart. Samuel turned to the group and heard Kallia say her farewells. Telemain stood next to her, waiting for him. He bade all of the survivors a good trip. He smiled at Kallia, happy that she was coming. Felines interested him, and she was cooperative. Unlike full-blood felines. The sun just squinted above the distant hills, and made Samuel's eyes water. He longed for cool chambers and shadowy, marble hallways. This travelling was nothing for him. He had burned his nose and cheeks, which hurt quite a lot. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4896 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Robin arrived at the barracks to find the main gate completely un-manned. He peeked through the gates, and then proceeded to walk up the path leading toward the 1st Unit meeting hall. He saw nobody around. Even if the rest of his Unit did not return from the battle, he still had trainee troops stationed at the barracks. He opened the door to the meeting hall., but was again greeted to nobody. He looked around the prestine hall, which looked as if nobody had touched it since his departure to the Feline territory. Robin was completely oblivious to the enterance of ten Kingdom troops behind him. Before he could react, one hit him in the back of his head with the hilt of his sword. Robin fell to the floor, but hit his head on the brunt of a table on his fall. He was knocked clean out, as blood flowed from his cracked skull. The troops dragged him outside of the doors, and toward the Kingdom Castle. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4760 Joined: 17 Mar 2009 | At the crossroad the the groups split. Temujin was unsure what to say, after all, he didn't really know any of the people there, despite having fought with them against a common foe. All he could come out with was a rather passive "Farewell, may we meet again" directed at Samuel's group before heading to the castle. |
Master Looter Posts: 2119 Joined: 14 Apr 2009 | After the last farewells had been spoken, the group bound for the Arcane Library set off. The day passed quick, and they had traveled half the distance they had to. They stayed in a small village near the banks of a fish-filled lake. Kallia had questions, so many questions about the Library. The magicians answered them to the best of their knowlage. The next day came way too soon for Samuel's taste. They ate a small breakfast, and started to travel again. They did so in silence, all tired of the last days' events. It wasn't until evening when the towers of the library came into view. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4896 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Robin was motionless, as the two soldiers held him by his arms, as his knees swayed from the ground. The leading General of the Kingdom's soldiers beat Robin extensively. "Is it true?", barked the General. Robin said nothing. The General hit Robin in the stomach, causing him to wheeze and cough. "Answer me!" Robin stayed motionless, and did not answer just as before. The General hit him once more in the stomach, the hit him several times in the face. The General ripped off Robin's undershirt, and pulled out a blade from his armour. "You have five seconds." Robin said nothing. The five seconds went by slowly. Eventually, the commander pulled the blade down to Robin's kidney, then plunged the blade through his skin. The knife did not reach his organ, but was extremely painful. "We have enough proof. He's obviously Keldrid's nephew. Release a statement saying that Robin Pepper, 2nd in Command of the 1st Unit is being beheaded due to crimes against the kingdom." The soldiers dragged Robin toward Headman's Hill, followed by the General. It seemed Robin wasn't going to get out of this one alive. |

She had no reason to do ether; she was nervous of her new promotion to captain, but she always was when she was promoted. She knew her squad was ready for anything; she had served with them for several years. "Calm down Flora..I mean captain." said her lieutenant, Natani. Flora took a deep breath to calm herself down. "Your right Natani." she said as she finished checking the equipment. "Get everybody ready to move out." she said. "Today we reach the main camp." she announced when everybody was assembled. "Lets run" she yelled as she sped westward with her troops close behind. |
Adventurer Posts: 382 Joined: 1 May 2009 | Rebecca led the group bound for the Oneson castle down the left path. The time could not have flowed any more slowly for her, as she was still bitter from the insults of Robin. 'He'll get his soon enough,' she thought, 'he needs to learn how to pipe down, too. If a highwayman had heard him speaking like that, claiming to be the King's nephew, he'd be kidnapped, or...' Rebecca swallowed hard. 'Or killed.' The mere thought chilled Rebecca to her bones. She wouldn't want Robin killed, no matter how rudely he had acted to her. He was... unique. He refused to bow to bloodlines, and she liked that. If there was one thing she hated completely, it was troops that followed her blindy because of her name. Honestly, she didn't like Robin constantly doubting her because of her name either, but he had spunk, she gave him that, and it was better than blind obedience. By this point, she was seriously considering Robin's safety. He had gone off by himself, what if someone had heard him? What if a huge gang of bandits were going after him? Robin was a good swordsman, she admitted, but not good enough to take on fifteen men by himself. Should they go back? Should she go back? He was alone, a prime target for a throng of villans... |
Power Leveler Posts: 3216 Joined: 24 Jan 2009 | Magnus could see the Arcane Library in the distance after travelling with Samuel and Kallia for two days. "Well, there are the towers. We may actually be able to make it before mid-day tomorrow." He watched the sun pass behind one of the towers, casting a shadow across the valley. "So do we make camp now, or do we travel a bit more?" |
Heroic Champion of Legendary Destiny Posts: 12072 Joined: 16 Jan 2009 | Telemain looked at the rays of sun hitting them between the trees. "I say we'd better set up camp. Dark will hit soon, and I'd rather have a fire going before it's too dark to find firewood." |
Server First Posts: 9096 Joined: 10 Mar 2009 | Kallia had spoken much during the entire trip. She asked questions about the Library, abouts its teachings and abouts its past. Samuel answered them kindly, and seemed to tolerate her ignorance. When the group arrived towards the towers Kallia quickly made her way to the head of the group. Her mouth practically fell to the floor as she stared in awe at the towers. The towers were beautiful, but at the same time seemed to have a cold aura that surrounded them. Kallia was eager to begin the learning process, her head had been filled with these thoughts since the day Samuel mentioned the Library. I hope that they accept me. I want to become the strongest magician possible, so that maybe one day I can be able to protect people. |

Telemain dropped his pack and set up the tent while Magnus gathered firewood and Samuel & Kallia gathered food for dinner. I need to work on my Create skill tonight. I'm in need of practice. |

Dungeon Crawler Posts: 587 Joined: 20 Mar 2009 | Flora called her squad to a halt as she looked around. It was getting dark and they hadn't eaten since breakfast. She could see some of her troops were panting and needed a few minutes rest. "All right, an hour to eat then we're off. When I said we'll reach the main camp I meant it." they saluted and soon a small fire was built as a small camp was setup. She kept watch as the others ate. When they were all done and she had managed to get down a mouth full of dried meat, they again sped of into the night. Around midnight they could all see the watch towers of the main camp in the distance. |

Master Looter Posts: 2119 Joined: 14 Apr 2009 | Samuel used his dented pan to cook the last meat and potatoes they had with them. It would be little, but enough for the night tomorrow they could eat in luxury again. He saw Telemain create several objects through magic, including lumps of rock and pieces of metal. Samuel looked with interest. Creation magic was something he hadn't looked into, but was eager to learn. He wanted to ask the finer details of Tenemains work, but thought the better of it. This was not the time nor place. He instead focused on the food that was done. He passed it out to everyone and started to eat on his own meager rations. |
Adventurer Posts: 382 Joined: 1 May 2009 | Rebecca had made up her mind, she had to go back for Robin. The kingdom was practically in a war with the felines, they needed every soldier they could get, and Robin was a good soldier, dammit. She brought Sound to a halt. Temujin looked up at her. "Something wrong, milady?" he asked dutifully. "Robin," she muttered, "Robin is in trouble." She pulled on Sound's reins and turned him around. "Pardon my questioning, milady, but how do you know?" Temujin asked. "I just..." she didn't know how to explain it, it was something of an instinct. "I just know that we can't leave him alone with that big mouth of his. Hop on behind me, we need to travel quickly." She scooted forward, giving Temujin space. "Yes, milady!" he said with pride as he mounted the steed. Rebecca spurred him at once, and Sound galloped down the road. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4896 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Robin was greeted by the jeering screams, booing and cheers of the citizens of the Kingdom as the soldier pulled off the band around his eyes. He had trouble adjusting to the sunlight, most likely because of his improsionment underground. The citizens three stones and fruit at Robin, as he stood bound by the headsman's block. His hands and neck were sealed in the wooded bind, and his feet were shackled by a metal chain. The people screamed things at Robin, but he couldn't make an distinct words. I can't believe I spent my life protecting these imbeciles, he thought, I give these people my life, and swear to protect them, but they pass me off as an event. A spectacle to gander at. The general announced to the audience Robin's "crimes". Harsh lies to do with his "treason" against the Kingdom, and his "failure to protect his Unit". Robin laughed, as the booing in the audience grew. The General nodded to the executioner, who raised an axe above his head, and placed is across his shoulder. "Any last words, traitor?", he laughed. "Just the contents of my burried treasure, and the map that will lead you to it!" Whispering in the audience broke out, and the executioner looked toward the General for instruction. Robin broke out in laughter. "Morons! You believe everything your told!", he laughed, "That's why I'm here today, and that's why countless others have stood here before! Your all idiots!" The General nodded to the executioner, who lifted the axe upward. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4760 Joined: 17 Mar 2009 | Robin heard the screech of a hawk. He remembered it from somewhere, or someone, but he didn't know what exactly. "Rebecca! And Temujin!" thought Robin. It was obviously the first time he had ever been happy to see them. The guards surrounded the two, but they were no match for the fighting skills of the nomadic hunter and Kingdom noble. Slowly they made their way to the elevated platform, were Robin still laid tied up, with his head on the block. Temujin reached for him, while Rebecca fought off the remaining guards, and slashed the ropes tieing his wrists with his dagger. "You owe me one, noble." said Temujin as he released him. The general was meanwhile looking at this horrid spectacle impotent, and unable to do anything. "Guards! Get those criminals right now, or it'll be your head on the block next time!" he shouted, but all of the remaining guards had either fled or had been killed. The trio then rushed out of the town square, and out of the gates, three horses were waiting for them. They quickly mounted and dissapeared into the sunset. |
Power Leveler Posts: 4896 Joined: 22 Feb 2009 | Robin rubbed his wrists, and squinted through the sunlight as they gallopped foward on the horses. Rebecca looked left and right for a path, whilst Temujin scouted for any more enemies. "Thanks for the save, Oneson. And you too, Temujin." Temujin's hawk squwaked in Robin's direction. "Yeah, yeah. Thanks to you too." |

After finishing Kallia looked at the towers, they were still in sight even though the sun had already set. "So Samuel, what is required to join the Library?" |
Master Looter Posts: 2119 Joined: 14 Apr 2009 | "You will have to be human and in possesion of magical abilities. That's all. Different magicians have different stances in the community, depending on knowlage and intelligence, but the Library will take all the mages they can get." Samuel sighed. "Of course some Magicians will see you as feline only, and thus as an enemy trying to infiltrate the Library. This will lead to a gathering. A....debate, if you will. You will have to make your point very clear, that you want to learn for the sake of learning, or else you will be banned from the library." He stretched and looked towards the darkening sky. "I am not looking forward to that." |
