What I'm referring to is when you got through a portal, or do a recall, your avatar stays as the purple haze, never materializes, and you eventually get timed out and disconnected. This has happened several times to me in the last week. Is there someway to address this ? I believe I've seen posts about this, but have no idea where to look.

Thanks, anyone.

Last time I heard of that happening it was due to a router problem on the users end. Are you behind a router?

I AM in a wireless network at home. After several attempts, I was able to configure the port forwarding as per instructions set forth by Turbine. Am frankly getting pretty frustrated. I ran LoTRO for months without a probolem; same for WoW, Horizons, Age of Conan, etc.

The disconns I'm suffering here are mind boggling. Sometimes will be just running and ZAP - instant disconn. Other times, I notice my avatar pause in the middle of an action, and sometimes I can use "logout" and quickly return, other times I just timeout.

I came back to AC because I was sick of the "skill trees" developers of newer games seem to feel is a MUST, but my return may not last long. Pragmatically, if I'm getting disconned here frequently (seems like 3-4 times an hour) and I'm NOT in other games, then sadly this one isn't worth keeping regardless of the source of the problem.

I understand your frustration. I got a new laptop with vista and wireless, and have a heck of a time getting the ports to work correctly. I can log in, get both vials to fill, pick a char, and then sit at a black screen till the connection is lost.

My desktop doesn't have this problem, but it's wired and it's xp.

The random disconnects do seem to be related to dropping communication somewhere along the way. have you tried connecting directly to the modem (or, heaven forbid! via dialup) to see if it's the router? I think part of the problem is that AC is so old, and technology has changed so much, that the base communications of the game are being left behind the new tech. :(
