The civilized citizens of Dereth have a wealth of knowledge and power, but what they lack is raw materials. In order to construct and maintain the large haven of Candeth Keep, these materials need to be procured and transported to the new city. Several builders in the town of Wai Jhou are actively searching for these raw materials and may even have rewards for those who assist them in their task.

As a part of this project you may be named as an honorary co-founder of Candeth Keep! To what end, you may ask? Being designated a co-founder gives you access to the Treehouse inside the keep, and the vendors who buy items at 100% of their intrinsic value! First, however, you must collect salvage and turn it in to the designated NPCs.

The art of collecting salvagable materials is a simple one. Be sure to buy an ust from any local local vendor; then, as you find unwanted loot, salvage it! Now, you'll need 303 pieces of salvage before your done, so don't go combining those bags. Whether it be a bag of 1 or a bag of 50, it counts as ONE donation. Quality doesn't matter, all materials can be used when building a town!

Each vendor takes a specific type of salvage so pay close attention. And you'll need to turn in 50 bags at a time. You won't be able to turn in 20 then come back the next day with 30 more....do it all at once. And what the heck, hunting near Wai Jhou will turn up most of your salvage anyways!

Note: At the time of this writing it is still unclear exactly how long a delay is possible between handing in sets of 50 bags of salvage in order to total 100 bags (and thereby be named a co-founder). We have reports of characters turning in 50 bags on one day, and several days later needing to turn in the full 100 bags. Be warned!

Getting to Wai Jhou

Start in Zaikhal and take the Portal to Danby's Outpost at (16.7N, 1.6W). At the drop run East to the Desert March Dungeon at (22.9N, 28.8W). Next take the Black Hill Portal in the bottom of dungeon. Once you exit, take the Small Black Hill portal at (62.1S, 52.3W). [Warning: HOT! - Ed.] Then take the Small Hill Base Portal at (62.1S, 50.4W). Wai Jhou is a bit away at (61.8S, 51.3W).

Onward to Candeth Keep

There are several ways to get to Candeth Keep (87.5S, 67.2W). This walled citadel lies near the portal drop from the Direland Midlands Portal (72.1N, 35.6W), the former location of the Carved Caves. (And location of Aun Autuorea, who, for a D-note, will provide a portal to Aerlinthe.) Luckily, there are similar portals to the same location in the Carved Caves (7.5N, 0.6E) and Sylsfear (11N, 14.7E) dungeons, both being short runs from Al-Jalima.

From the portal drop, run to Candeth Keep at (87.5S, 67.2W). Be wary of spawns outside the keep, and approach the main gates. They may be opened by double-clicking as if they were a door. (Please close after entering!) Feel free to explore the keep. Remember that, as a co-founder, you may enter the Treehouse and make use of the vendors there.
