~Here are some notes on Amn's geography~

Land Area: 56718 official Sq. Miles + debatable northlands equaling much more. OOC: Slightly smaller than Washington State

Borders: 951 Miles + debatable northland borders.

Population in 274 YL: 134,000

# Arregaltania was formerly known as "Eardwaste". It was Arthrolc's stronghold and a terrible intimidating fortress. It was completely torn down and rebuilt into Amn's capitol which stood untouched by warring hands for almost 300 years. Arregaltania is a word in an ancient tounge meaning "flame eternal". It was the name of the arrow which slew Arthrolc.

# The Year 274 B.P. is an error. It should read Y.L (Year of our Liberation). This will get fixed at some point. Voltaire, Metellus Cimber, and Padishar Rhodes arrived in 274. 274 Y.L. roughly correlates to P.Y 10 Dereth time. When those 3 left for Dereth, Amn took on the P.Y. standard of time. Amn fell in roughly P.Y. 20, 10 years after this map's time frame.

# Illhaven is not as evil as it sounds. The town was founded in 168 Y.L. shortly before this time, the Irydnu of Uvaerk were racked with sickness from a plague known as "The Great Blight". Amnite students of the apothocary and faith healers from Amn came in great number to the site of the crossing of the river Yfjar between Amn and Uvaerk. Some say it was an act of great kindness to the people of Uveark for Amn's healers to come to them, while the more cynical say it was intended to keep them from crossing into Amn and infecting Amn as well. We may never know, but it was most likely both as Amnite government funded the endeavor immensely. The town was founded as a "Haven for the Ill of Uvaerk", and eventually became a legitimate city after the plague had ended. Illhaven was the logical name.

# Port Edvelheim is an extraordnarily important city to Amn because of the trade conducted there. The land of amn, previously being home to Arthrolc the cruel, was sapped of its resources when the Amnites took it for their own. While not being completely stripped of essentials, it did lack in many things useful to a kingdom. As such, the port of Edvelheim conducts incredible amounts of trade with the many island kingdoms SW of Amn's western coast. It is a very fine situation for Amn as each of the islands seems to have an excellent trade good which they specialize in. As long as Edvelheim stands, Amn lacks in nothing. Founded in about 23 Y.L. It is Amn's oldest city save for Arregaltania.

# Uvaerk is a very structured nation of Irydnu that warred heavily with Arthrolc when he was in power. As such, they logically became great allies of Amn when they overthrew Arthrolc. Some say that the great Rhodes came from Uvaerk. It would make sense as Uvaerk would have vested interest in sowing rebellion in Arthrolc's kingdom.

# Sul Liveria. It is said this sprawling metropolis may be the largest city in the world. Thousands upon thousands of Irydnu call it their home as it is one of the few hospitable places in the arid landscape of Uvaerk. Built around several natural wells, it is a frightening prospect that were they to run dry, it would spell certain doom for the people of Uvaerk. Well built and sanitary, it is a marvel to all who see it.

# Modgerbaen. Nestled into the great eastern mountain peaks of Amn is an impressive impregnible fortress town. Built in 101 Y.L. as a fallback point were Amn to ever face serious invasion. Sadly, it's strength would never be tested as the horde of Arthrolc was wise enough to attack from the east when they came, cutting Arregaltania's people of from Modgerbaen.

# Baedermyrch is quite obviously a dialectic adaptation of Bordermarch. A relatively new city (233 Y.L.), it is considered the most northerly civilized city in Amn. Some would disagree though as it is home to most of the ferile Northmen who consider themsleves men of Amn. Indeed, it may be the least civilized of all with the tough and roccus attitude that pervades the place. Not a home of evil, but the faint of heart need not go there. Nights of Ale and women are year round. On a less interesting note, Baedermyrch is in close proximity to basically all of Amn's sizable forests. Logging is big business there.

# Dipernia is a city shrouded in antiquity. No-one knows it's true origins. It is most certainly far old than even Arthrolcs long standing kingdom. Built on the swampy Delta of the River Blayz, the land has taken much work to mold into suitable conditions to sustain many people. Nevertheless, such work was completed by Amn's architects and Dipernia has become a reknowned city of learning and scholars, built up into a bustling metropolis. Much of the arcane knowlede Amn posseses was discovered in this mysterious city. For the adventuresome, great catacombs rest beneath its rebuilt stones and pathways. Far into the earth they go, holding undiscovered secrets and forgotten artifacts. This city was made an official part of Amn around 37 Y.L.

# Kyoto - A city of Horwathi - Information not yet complete -

# The Utter Noth is not actually visible on the map, but it is all the land above civilized Amn. Truely, Amn could say they own much of this land, but it is so unpoulated and dangerous such a claim is futile at best. The northern border of Amn is very blurred, none can say for sure, though the River Blayz is commonly accepted. It makes a sharp right turn above the portion of the map which is unvisible in this image.

# The Sea of Gimnar's Eastern edge in turn, marks the eastern edge of Amn. It is a salt sea though the rivers that run out from it become fresh afer only a few miles and in some cases, almost immediately. The eastern edge of this sea, while not visible in this map, is only a few miles further than what can be seen here. Amn claims all of Gimnar as it's property
