To the true Prophet of the One,
Please forgive this intrusion Father, but I lurk in the shadows and
watch and listen to your words of wisdom. On one occasion you offered
your assistance to one new to Dereth and the chaotic world referred to
as DarkTide. I make a bold assumption and transposed this offer from
that individual to myself. If I have overstepped my bounds, please tell
me my penance.I will continue before I lose my nerve and my tongue...
A brief history (will attempt to keep it brief) of Bennoc:
As a young boy, I came to be without having family (a long
story). A small monastery in northern Ispar took me in. I lead a
sheltered existence for many years, and was just about to become an
initiate when a force that I could not resist bade me to enter a
shimmering force of power.I awoke in the desert of a strange land, which I now know to
be Dereth. I have seen the many evils in this land, be they horrid
creatures or men that look the same as you or me. I have unlocked the
powers to channel the forces by the commands of the power words. I must
confess that I have been bitter, that I the most unworthy of my Order
have been made to answer the call.My survival in this harsh world has been difficult. My
innocence has been erased! There is a creed of my Order that states,
"Blood is the tool of the Darkone, spilling blood through violence only
furthers his cause". This creed is what has kept me on the true path,
but has also what makes survival so difficult. Without using the power
words for Fire Bolt, Force Bolt and the like, or even using a stick to
fend off the evils, I am resolved to harm and drain the lifeforce of
the evil I encounter. If it has not been for some good companions,
where my magiks are most helpful, I would have already surrendered to
despair. It is a hard path, but one that I welcome if I am able to do
the One's bidding. Which is the reason that I was bold enough to
contact you Monseignor. I got the call before I was instructed on most
of the teachings of the One. I have a desire to spread his Light and
Goodness, but I fear to do so without the proper training. So I humbly request for you (or you to direct me to someone) can start my training to be a true cleric for the One.
May the One protect us for the evils of the land,
Bennoc
