The Empress Alaidain is the first recorded Empress of the Yalaini. All later emperors and empresses are noted for being of her line.

Alaidain was empress at the end of the Millenium War against the Dericost. Along with Jailne, King of the Haebrous, she infiltrated the fortress of Gelid. She was led by the grandmother of Lady Adja, a Falatacot woman who escaped Gelid earlier. Alaidain and Jailne slew Sarvien the Foolish, last King of the Dericost, in front of the Ice Throne.

As he lay dying, Sarvien cursed her and her people with the Five Fold Curse. This knowledge was kept safe in the hands of the Wards of Ithaenic and by her instruction only known to emperors.

By decree she ordered the foundation of the Ancient and Glorious Order of Hieromancers.
