The Rise of New Singularity

  • Snowreap PY 12 (January 2001) - Now in this Hush
Following the defeat of the Hopeslayer, a hush fell across the land. Snow fell and dotted the landscape as adventurers sought the weapons of a Bandit Chief and the rumors of more powerful spells. The migration patterns of many monsters concerned observers though who felt that this hush could not last long.

  • Coldeve PY 12 (February 2001) - Lonely in the World
A purple aura hung about Dereth's twin moons as a sinister tale unfolded of the torture and transformation of a human at the hands of the Virindi. The tale seemed to punctuate a growing awareness of the Virindi's encroaching presence in Osteth, their growing involvement with the the Tumeroks who had opened installations in the A'mun, and their continued experimentation with the vicious fauna that made the island their home.

  • Wintersebb PY 12 (March 2001) - Spring's Sorrows
As the snows of the last winter finally melted, it was not the usual wildlife of Dereth that emerged on the island. In the A'mun desert, fearsome new entities seemingly linked to the Virindi arrived, bringing chaos and fear in their wake. Eerie dolls and marionettes apparantly constructed from the bodies of the undead glided across the sands, hunting those foolish enough to investigate these new creations of the Virindi. While some Isparians investigated these new opponents, others found unlocking the secrets of the Virindi through new found caches in the Direlands and the mysteries of the undead through the memory constructs called Mnemosynes to be a more rewarding occupation. But, amidst these discoveries, the month's most sorrowful event came with the attack on Ayan Baqur and the abduction of the town's residents.

  • Morningthaw PY 12 (April 2001) - A Reign of Stone
Isparians are greeted by friendly Lugian ambassadors in their own towns and the way into the fortress city of Linvak Tukal is opened. But, all is not peaceful in this city under siege by renegade forces. Discoveries of the assistance of the Virindi to these renegades further blackens the potential for peace in Dereth despite new found allies.

  • Solclaim PY 12 (May 2001) - The Changing of the Ways
Aided by a mysterious man in a mask, an intrepid Aluvian cook and his wife establish an outpost in the untamed Northern Direlands. Many adventurers also claim titles representing their talents and skills more adequately to their peers, and many of the magics in Dereth mysteriously undergo changes to the benefit of the champions of Dereth.

  • Seedsow PY 12 (June 2001) - Chains of Command
The experiment begun with the capture of the townspeople of Ayan Baqur is brought to an end as new Black Claw Drudges are discovered in the northern and southern mountains of Dereth, leading adventurers to the installations where the citizens had been transported. In addition to this liberation, the Isparians also rejoiced in their increased abilities to communicate through alleigance speakers. This more efficient form of communication was hoped to aid in better organizing Dereth's alleigances against their foes.

  • Leafdawning PY 12 (July 2001) - Lost in the New Horizon
While veteran adventurers race to explore a new island populated by the Virindi and some of their new creations, other heroes battle against the random raids of the Virindi's Rifts.

  • Verdantine PY 12 (August 2001) - Crests of a Turbulent Sea
As the Virindi lightning raids continue throughout Dereth, the news of a Virindi/Tumerok alliance is evidenced in the towers and camps of virindi and tumeroks near the capital cities of Osteth.

  • Thistledown PY 12 (September 2001) - Keep Your Enemies Closer
As the autumn winds begin to howl forlornly through the valleys of Dereth, the patterns of leaves and hides begin to shift to those of winter. Ripples of change radiate across Dereth as creatures find themselves seeking shelter in locations outside of their normal dens. Travelers recount many a tale of encounters with creatures in locations far different from the usual.

  • Harvestgain PY 12 (October 2001) - The Widening Gyre
Amid autumnal festivities and merrymaking, the arrival in Zaikhal of a dissenter in the ranks of the renegade faction of the Virindi led adventurers to the discovery of how they might disrupt the creation of the New Singularity. In the very seat of the New Singularity, adventurers slew the leader of the renegade faction, Levistras, finally turning the tide of the battle against their opponents.
