Lore of Ispar - Souia-Vey

They were broad shouldered, mobile mountains of muscle and sinew. They were giants of men dressed in an odd assortment of leather and metal. They wore longbows of Sho design on their backs, with blades of Aluvian origin hanging at their belt. Almond shaped eyes peered through the quickly parting crowd, like hawks looking past the trees for a mouse.

"Mercenaries", "Bodyguards", "Souia-Vey", were words whispered in the Tirethas marketplace as the foursome made their way to whatever business they were about to conduct.

Running down the street, oblivious to the coming mountain range of muscle, a young page burst around a corner right into the lead mercenary. The man did not move, but the lad was sent sprawling, clearly dazed.

The four Souia-Vey mercenaries laughed mercilessly and moved on.

"And that my friends is my only, and hopefully last, encounter with Souia-Vey mercenaries", said Nayt al-Yad.

The Distant Past

Very little is known of the Souia-Vey, except that they work as mercenaries and have been known as bandits of great cruelty. They occupy the lands between Gharu'n and Milantos, which is believed to be high steppes and barren grasslands. The Souia-Vey are thought to be a nomadic culture, preferring to hunt an area and move on rather than establish anything more permanent than a trading outpost here and there. This harsh lifestyle has put them in high demand as mercenaries, for their ability to track prey, be it man or animal, with great sucess.

(The people of Souia-Vey seem similar to the Mongolians of Earth, nomads wearing fur trimmed hats, working as bandits and mercenaries.)
