Armor Tinkering

Armor Tinkering allows a player to modify two facets of an item: armor level and protections. This skill challenges our previous trade templates by using the Focus and Endurance attributes, instead of Focus and Coordination. Armor Tinkering costs 4 skill credits, and you cannot specialize it. Once you have salvaged 100 units, you are ready to modify an item.

The eight possible modifications for Armor Tinkering are:

• Increase Armor Level
• Increase Slashing Resistance
• Increase Piercing Resistance
• Increase Bludgeoning Resistance
• Increase Acid Resistance
• Increase Cold Resistance
• Increase Fire Resistance
• Increase Electrical Resistance

With the "Swelling Tide" event, three new imbues were added to the Armor Tinkering Skill, one for each defense skill. These effects imbue a piece of treasure-generated armor (including Covenant Armor!) with a +1 stackable defense bonus. This defense bonus, like the defense modifier on a weapon, only comes into play during an attack.
