What do Tradeskills have to do with Quests?

Many times, during our lives in Dereth, we find ourselves on a Quest. As with every other facet of Dereth, Quests come in different shapes and sizes. Some common types of quests are:

Quests that you can do yourself.
Quests that require a team with diverse skills and experience.
Quests to obtain a special item.
Quests to find a lost item and return it to its rightful owner.
Quests to craft a weapon.

To complete some Quests, an adventurer will require the services of a Cook, an Alchemist, a Lockpick, or a Fletcher. Whether it is to cure a large lugian sinew for a composite bow, or to make a high quality ingot for a Peerless weapon, you cannot complete your quest until you have found a capable Tradesperson to help you.

The information in these pages should help both Adventurer and Tradesperson alike. As an Adventurer, you need to know what level of skill is needed for a good shot at obtaining your item. With this information, you can then seek out a Tradesperson with the appropriate skill. As a Tradesperson, you need to know what level of skill you need to have in order to have the best chance at satisfying your customer.

A word of caution: Pay special attention to the skill requirements of each item, and understand the risks associated with crafting in general. Just because you found someone with high enough skill does not assure 100% that he or she absolutely will not fail. Granted, higher skills mean a better chance of success. Weigh this against the value of your Quest item, as you have worked hard to get where you are today!
