Determining Allegiance Rank and Title
While you can be a monarch with just one follower, your allegiance title will only as the title of your highest-ranked vassal. However, if your two highest ranked vassal happen to share the same rank, then your rank will be promoted by one! This means that the number of vassals you need to gain each rank accelerates exponentially and that the fewest number of underlings needed to gain each rank equals 2 to the power of rank minus 2.
The following table is a demonstration of the tightest method of organizing vassals to reach Rank Six. Characters lower on the chart are sworn in pairs to a character on the line above. So for a character to achieve Rank Two, two Rank One characters must be sworn to the character that needs Rank Two. The only catch? A character cannot have more vassals sworn directly to it than that character has levels. This means that for a character to achieve Rank Two (or higher), the character must also be at least level two.
