Soapbox: I Think I Am Going To Be Sick.

I know it has been awhile since a Soapbox was posted. I personally haven't had much to talk about game wise. I have been busy enjoying the game and playing the hero content until now. This rollback that occurred today has brought out the selfish nature of some of the players and it has disgusted me to the point that I have been feeling sick to my stomach.

Where does anyone get off verbally abusing the developers for making a decision to try and correct their mistakes? Who do you think you are? Yes you pay for this service. Yes you have a right to expect a quality product, especially a product that has no tangibility aside from 3 cd's and a cardboard box. Just because the internet provides anonymity does not mean that anyone should ever treat anyone else like crap. It is unfortunate that it even happens. To me that is as bad as the guy who beats his wife every night in a drunken stupor. Hell after I read half the stuff that was posted I felt compelled to apologize to Jessica and Citan. I may not have been affected by the shield bug, but I do very much agree that a rollback was in order. Jessica admits that a backup should have been done before the hot fix and has taken steps to ensure that it is a standard procedure from now on during any game update. It is very unfortunate that so many players have lost a lot of work due to the rollback, but it is work that can be done again. Many players will go on, but some have left and quit in anger. Hopefully some of those people will calm down in a few days and come back. Hopefully some people will not return after their verbal onslaught on the accmty boards. Hopefully most of those people were banned.

Many people think they know what is best for the game and many people think they can make a better game. I have said this before and I will say it again.... prove it! Go out and do it. This game has come a very long way in the past year. It has evolved and changed into something that many people are happy with. This is because of the hard work that Turbine has put in. They have endured a lot of grief from the players and that says a lot for their character. Lesser people would have not dealt with it as well as they have. I admire that and respect them more for it.
