Visions and Goals
Jessica has spent some time to develop an overview for the community on the direction Asheron's Call 2 is going to take in the coming months. She asked me to format this and post it, so below is her nicely formatted document for your review. So without further ado...Asheron's Call 2: Vision and Goals for the Rest of the Year
So, we promised our vision for the rest of the year, including a calendar to show when we believe we can implement what we're promising; here it is. We'll start detailing the June items in the coming days and the July items by the end of the month. As soon as we have better specs and design on the big-ticket items, such as the Level 50+ advancement system, we'll get them out on the board; we won't wait until 60 days before the episode month. Some of this you'll like, we're sure, and some of it is going to cause people to want to hang us from a light pole and beat us like piņatas. Regardless, we're just trying to be upfront with you on when we believe we can do these things, so you can make an informed decision. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or for clarifications; where ever we can, we'll answer. Please bear in mind that, in general, we're trying to push out specific information on skill and class changes at least 60 days ahead of time. We're not always hitting that mark because we're as busy as you are, but that is the goal. Elements we will emphasize in development for the rest of the year:
- New KvK dynamics to make it more meaningful and offer players and Allegiances more control of the environment
- Level 50+ 'Hero' System, applied to KvK so it has a meaning
- Skill System Rebuild
- Treasure System Rebuild
- Crafting Rebuild
- Epic Story Arcs + Live Ops/Events to support those Arcs
- Permanent Storage
- Housing: Either individual or Allegiance; a small chance of both.
- More item variety to enhance personalization
- Pure PvP, except as it pertains to KvK
- Pure Solo play at the upper levels
Group mobs are just that; there will be creatures and mobs that not even Heroes can solo. We are going to stop trying to be all things to all players. We'll concentrate on making the AC2 of the future a place that enhances the 'elder game' by providing a good KvK and Allegiance experience and an innovative Level 50+ advancement system that (or goes beyond the old treadmill.
