Turbine/Jolt FAQ

Q. I’m a European AC2 player. Why do I care about this announcement?

A. Because it shows that both Turbine and Jolt are fully committed to making the AC franchise a success in Europe. It also means a potentially better experience for you with new dedicated European service, support, and network point-of-presence.

Q. Will the European worlds be moved to new hardware, or will the current servers be moved to the new datacenter?

A. The AC2 worlds will be moved to new hardware, owned and managed by Jolt.

Q. When will the server move take place?

A. AC2 worlds will be moved to the new datacenter by early 2005.

Q. Who will control billing?

A. Billing, operations, customer service, and marketing for AC2 Europe will be managed by Jolt.

If you so choose, you may continue to play on US servers. Your billing and customer service would be through Turbine.

Yes, it does.

Quite the opposite, actually. The team will continue to provide you with content, and you are still a member of the AC2 community on these forums.

Yes, and yes!

Such players will unfortunately have to choose between datacenters.

These details will be released by Jolt.

If you are playing on the US servers and wish to continue to do so, this will not affect you, unless you now wish to begin playing on Jolt's European servers.

One reason we chose Jolt was because they have excellent performance and bandwidth provisions, so yes, any network-related lag should be better when we move over.

(from Jessica) Not to worry; as we do now with the current Euro set-up, we'll push out the monthly episodes and any hotfixes to Jolt at the same time as we push them ot the US servers.

(from Jessica) If you have characters on both US and the Euro datacenters, you'll still be able to access them. Any new AC2 servers that go up, however, will likely be solely on Jolt's billing system, requiring a separate account.

As for price: We haven't discussed a price change, that I know of, and I've been involved in almost all of the discussions. If the price were going to change any time soon, I think we'd have mentioned it in the press release, .

If there ever is a price change, you can be sure we'll let you know in advance.
